Reef to Clean-Up Carlsbad Lagoon after Moving its Global Headquarters
 May 9, 2007 (Carlsbad, CA) – Reef relocates its global headquarters to a newly remodeled office building in Carlsbad, CA, after nearly a decade in Kearny Mesa. Monday marked a new beginning for 120 Reef employees who are getting settled into their new North County office, located at 5935 Darwin Court, Carlsbad, CA 92008, off of Palomar Airport Road.
In an effort to contribute to the new community it now calls home, Reef, along with the Reef Redemption Foundation and the Surfrider Foundation, will be conducting a backyard clean-up at the Carlsbad Lagoon on Friday, May 11th from 12-3pm. The lagoon clean-up is an internal effort that highlights Reef’s attitude towards being environmentally conscious.
“Reef has created the Reef Redemption Foundation to employ environmentally conscious business practices and to create a culture of giving. Our goal is to evaluate Reef’s day-to-day business activities and find ways to reduce our energy and material usage, which will infiltrate into every part of our business in the future,” commented Mike Gass, Chairman of the Reef Redemption Foundation.
Starting with its new global headquarters, Reef has already begun to take steps towards making an environmental difference. The new office building utilizes recyclable furniture, energy star appliances, reclaimed wood in conference rooms, skylights for natural light and censored lights. Additionally, half of the building uses recycled carpet, while the other half features polished concrete floors. Reef now uses a green cleaning company for all janitorial needs while employees have adopted an internal recycling program.
